Objective: To conduct the reliability and validity study of the World Health Organization Disability Assessment Schedule (WHODAS 2.0) in order to evaluate its functionality in morbidly obese people. Methodological procedures: Methodological study with 60 adults between 18 and 59 years, diagnosed with morbid obesity. Utilized instruments: Initial Interview, 36 - item version of WHODAS 2.0, Short World Health Organization Quality of Life(WHOQOL - BREF), Six - Minute Walk Test (TC6 ‘) and Role Checklist. Results: The average age was 41,25 years. The psychometric tests showed internal consistency with Cronbach’s total alpha of 0.93. The re-test demonstrated good and excellent reliability with Intraclass Correlation Coefficient ranging from 0.67 to 0.81. With regards to the validity of convergent and divergent criteria, it obtained a moderate correlation in most of the WHOQOL - BREF domains, a divergent relationship between WHODAS 2.0 and the TC6’, and a significant correlation between the domain WHODAS 2.0 School and Work Activities with the Worker from the Identification List Occupational Papers. Conclusion: The study illustrated that WHODAS 2.0’ psychometric properties are appropriate for people with morbid obesity.
