Resumo

Este ensaio analisa como a categoria Memória percorre a produção teórica de Lotman. O pensador russo analisa uma nova teoria da memória, que ele desenvolve como parte essencial da cultura concebida como um sistema semiótico, conceito desenvolvido nas obras da escola Tártu-Moscou. Visando descrever as técnicas de autointerpretação e automodelagem (transformação, tradução, transcodificação) por meio do qual uma cultura tenta se estabilizar.
