Abstract

This research aimed to identify the pedagogical practice used by the teacher of Agricultural Engineering, the conceptions of the learning process as well as the degree to which the theoretical concepts of the teacher are coherent with his/her pratice. The pedagogical practice was defined as the regular/customary teaching procedures. The objects of the study were the teachers and the students of Agricultural Engineering at ESALQ - Piracicaba Campus, University of São Paulo. Oral presentation with blackboard, notes and overhead projection was the method most frequently used by the teachers, who, therefore, become the central agent in the teaching process. Because participation in scientific events is very frequent, teaching contempts are constantly updated.
