This paper analyzes the process of creating the visual image archive of the testimony films. In this case, we use as example films that debate different historical catastrophes: the Shoah (holocaust) and the Brazilian military dictatorship. The creation of these files affects the understanding of realism as recurrent aesthetic strategies and the forms of representation that produce these images. The record of the actual choices made through the aesthetic point of view determines the ethical and moral of the different forms of realism.Downloads
