POETRY AND OPINION POLL: AN ANALYSIS OF THE LITERARY POLITICAL ENGAGEMENT IN POSTCOLONIAL GOAN JOURNALISM (1961-1967)

Abstract

In this text we intend to sketch an analysis of Goan cultural and literary production around the time of the end of colonialism in Portuguese India in 1961, through the analysis of the journals A Vida, Diário da Noite and O Heraldo. We will analyze the editorials and poetry of these newspapers to examine the different readings on Goan identity in the context of the turbulent transition process of Postcolonial Goa, scrutinizing the several relations between the political and cultural field.

  • Marcello Felisberto Morais de Assunção, Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG)

    Possuí graduação, mestrado e doutorado em história pela Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG). Tem experiência na área de História, com ênfase em História Contemporânea e Teoria da História, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: intelectuais, autoritarismos (com ênfase nas experiência do Estado Novo português e brasileiro), relações luso-afro-brasileiras (fundamentalmente no século XX), África Lusófona, colonialismos, marxismo clássico e contemporâneo (com enfoque na tradição do marxismo historicista: György Lukács, Karl Korsh, Antônio Gramsci, Lucien Goldman, Raymond Wilians, Edward Palmer Thompson e outros), Pierre Bourdieu (sua relação com a tradição marxista e suas possíveis contribuições para o estudo da historia). Foi analista de pesquisa da Comissão Nacional da Verdade entre os meses de Agosto a Dezembro de 2014. Pertence desde 2014 ao grupo de pesquisa "Portugal e Brasil no mundo contemporâneo: identidade e memória" (CNPQ: http://dgp.cnpq.br/dgp/espelhogrupo/2599879888501045). É membro e revisor da diretoria da Revista de Teoria da História.
