Three preliminary topics for a political interpretation of Nietzsche’s thought
Keywords:
Politics – Culture – Morals – “Great politics”Abstract
The political misappropriations of Nietzsche’s thought, as well
as the critics of his presumed political aristocratism, keep a common
approach: both of them evaluate his thought in comparison with
modern political thought. The aim of this article is to analyze three preliminary
topics in order to do a stricto sensu reading of Nietzsche’s
political thought. First of all, I assume that Nietzsche’s political view
must strictly be analyzed within Nietzschian thought, and not from any
values related to philosophical modernity and politics. Secondly, I will
analyze the morals and values as an expression of ways of life. Lastly, I
will focus on the relationships between action, moral sensibility and
décadence. These questions and observations reverberate in a special
way throughout Nietzsche’s political conceptions.
