Abstract

The foundation as the theme of political philosophy has turned its attention to the problem of the principle. This is a phenomenon that is recorded since the legendary narratives of antiquity. Hannah Arendt conceives the analysis of the Revolutions as foundation, addressing this relationship from the idea that the foundation is developed through this novelty introduced in the context of the eighteenth century. Thus, the theme of the foundation, discussed by Arendt under the light of the events of the American and French Revolutions, is crucial and has relevant aspects, because it places us in front of the problem of the novelty. The objective is to address the phenomenon of revolution as foundation demonstrating that wars do not have the purpose of being an unprecedented novelty, for this purpose has been provided by the events in France and the United States. We intend, therefore, to explain the purpose of the phenomenon of the Revolution as the foundation of freedom.
