Abstract

This article deals with the Verb + Local Adverb constructions in Portuguese, which form a set relative few elements in that language, if it is compared with other languages, such as English (phrasal verbs) or German (trennbare Verben). Those constructions have their origin in a so-called adverbial projection of praefixed verbs and bring together in it a imagery which sometimes has translinguistical diffusion.
