Résumé

This paper discusses the cyclical nature of the critical approaches of communicationin Brazil in the last 40 years. The 1970’s, 1980’s were characterized by theories of differenthues who denounced the culture’s commodification, the symbolic’s deflation, thedisputes over hegemony in the interpretation of reality. The next 20 years were markedby abandonment of certain critical bias, in favor of the treatment of most indentedaspects of communicative process and product. From recent discussions of Boltanski,placing the concepts of critical and metacritique, highlighting to the importance ofthe redemption of embracing looks in the communicational analysis.
