Starting from the concepts of hybridization and transculturation discussed by Iwabuchi, Tatsumi and Ianni, the discursive analysis of the manga Inspector Akane Tsunemori aims to investigate the hypothesis of an ethos specific to Japanese cyberpunk. To achieve this, Michel Foucault's concept of biopower is used to understand the differences in approach to Wiener's cybernetic present in cyberpunk and, finally, Freud's psychoanalytic theories, helped with Kawai's, to understand the change in profile of the cyberpunk protagonist and the allegory present in the manga.
