This article delves into Hélio Oiticica’s trajectory during 1970. At the time, he returned from a series of international trips and works in 1969 preceding a long period as a Manhattan resident as of 1971. During this brief hiatus in Rio, Oiticica simultaneously takes stock of the previous years of work and carries out several new fronts in cinema, music, design, and writing. This is also when the artist establishes a new network of partners and ideas that in the upcoming years expanded towards the “experimental” and its several outgrowths.
