The aim of this article is to attempt a reflective approach to the relationship be- tween the cultures of memory and the spatialisation of remembrance as from the recovery of an ex-clandestine detention center (Mansión Seré) as a place of memory. In the last two decades the proliferation of studies on the construction of social memory located in significant urban areas have taken a special interest and relevance within the social sciences. Public spaces bear new meanings: social memory needs places and tends to spatialization.
