Abstract

In this paper, we characterize the fable “The cicada and the ants” as a voice of resistance of Monteiro Lobato and the illustrator André Le Blanc in Brazilian children’s literature of the first half of the twentieth century. We analyzed the Brazilian fable based on the Marxist concepts of infrastructure and superstructure, discussed by Bakhtin / Voloshinov in Marxism and the philosophy of language (1929). In this research, these concepts can be understood by the ironic architecture (BRAIT, 1996) of Lobato’s text.

É mestre em Linguística Aplicada e Estudos da Linguagem pela PUC/SP (2008), pós-graduada em Língua Portuguesa e Literaturas de Língua Portuguesa pela Universidade São Marcos (2005) e graduada em Licenciatura Plena em Letras pela Faculdade de Filosofia Ciências e Letras de Santo André (1996). Tem experiência na área de Letras, Linguística e Linguística Aplicada.
