A Palestina vai à Copa: estudo das imagens circuladas digitalmente sobre demonstrações de apoio à causa palestina na Copa do Mundo da FIFA 2022

Resumo

O presente ensaio reflete sobre a circulação digital de imagens referentes a demonstrações de apoio à causa palestina ao longo da Copa do Mundo da FIFA realizada no Qatar em 2022. A partir da análise do compartilhamento de imagens de ativismo palestino nas redes digitais foi possível compreender que os ativistas celebravam tais demonstrações, utilizando o evento para difundir a causa palestina. Os registros fotográficos das demonstrações eram encarados como manifestações importantes para luta nacional, compartilhadas e reproduzidas em diversos perfis em plataformas digitais. Além disso, outras representações buscavam significar e legitimar essas ações em perspectiva política mais ampla,
argumento que esses autores utilizaram durante a Copa do Mundo de Futebol, em decorrência de seu caráter como evento midiático internacional, para disputar visibilidade e legitimidade à causa palestina.
