Casamento por convergência: identidades estatais e a aliança entre Síria e Irã

Resumo

Este artigo procura compreender como as identidades inf luenciam o surgimento e a manutenção da aliança sírio iraniana. Por meio de uma análise qualitativa e interpretativa da literatura sobre o tema, a pesquisa investiga três momentos: a guerra entre Irã e Iraque, a Guerra do Líbano e o conflito na Síria, a fim de compreender os elementos que constituem esse vínculo. Argumenta-se que a aproximação – e a manutenção – da aliança entre Síria e Irã é pautada pela complementariedade de suas identidades estatais, constituindo o que denominamos de “casamento por convergência”.
