The Representation of the Teacher in Jeferson Tenório's Novels

This article aims to investigate how the representation of the teacher as a character occurs in the novels O beijo na parede (2013), Estela sem Deus (2018) and O avesso da pele (2020b), by the writer Jeferson Tenório. Aspects of the plot, the narrator and other characters were addressed in this study to compose the representation of the teacher as a social and behavioral figure in this author's novels. The analysis of this study took place through bibliographical research based on literary studies from Brazil (2019), Dalcastagnè (2005), Polesso (2018) and Spalding (2018), as well as studies on education at the school of Alves (2010), Moysés (1994, 1998) and Zatti (2007). The writer teaches Portuguese in Porto Alegre and, for this reason, builds a portrait of these professionals who work with basic education in a context of representation, through which the figure of the teacher is analyzed. Therefore, Tenório's prose invites the reader to reflect on the role of educators and, in particular, draws attention to the work of teachers in public schools.
