Abstract

From acknowledgement of an historical relation between the hotel's role and the socio-cultural event, and recognizing the exislence of an intrinsic hospitality traditional component, the paper proposes to investigate the fom of this relation in a carnival's historical view with respect to economic development and the strategies adopted by two traditionals hotels at the Salvador (Brazil) situated in the Carnival 's coreplace, through a innovative and sustainable perspective. Proceeds from this study an strategic alternative to lodging enterprises, innovative as links the modernity of Carnival-business with the tradition, and sustainable as founds its attitudes in aspects of cultural nature, assuring the event reproduction.
