Abstract

The following work intends to claim the importance of the newspaper for the literary studies of the First Republic (1889-1930), as it exposes peculiarities of São Paulo context, as well as discusses possible problems of a significant part of literary criticism that, inattentive to the shares between literature and journalism, hides, consequently, processes that are indispensable for the understanding of the constitution of brazilian literature.

    Bacharel em Letras - português/espanhol (2015) e mestre em Literatura Brasileira pela Universidade de São Paulo (2018). Atualmente dedica-se à pesquisa de doutorado em Literatura Brasileira na mesma instituição.
