AFTER CELEBRATING THE MATURE WOMAN, THE SO-CALLED BALZACIAN BASED ON BALZAC’S NOVEL “LE LYS DANS LA VALLÉE”, WRITTEN AT THE END OF THE 19TH CENTURY, WE SEE THE ADVENT OF THE NEW FEMALE MODEL: THE SALOME MYTH, ESTABLISHING THE PERVERSE ADOLESCENT THAT CAN ALSO INCLUDE PIERE LOUYS’ “APHRODITE”, AMONG OTHERS. IN THE 20TH CENTURY THE WORK OF ANDRÉ GIDE AND THE DILETTANTE LITERATURE OF A PAUL MORAND WILL COMPLEMENT A LONG LITERARY FAMILY WHERE TEIXEIRA GOMES HAS EARNED HIS RIGHTFUL PLACE.
