Abstract

Politics has been a category recently placed in suspicion in Amerindian studies. This article proposes an initial approximation between the cosmopolitical proposal of Isabelle Stengers and the contributions of Americanists to the approach of what is usually recognized as “Amerindian politics”. Returning to the conceptual adjustments proposed by Beatriz Perrone-Moisés on the indigenous feasts, ethnographic descriptions of the wedding party, the feast of Kiki and the Meeting of Kujãs by the kaingang indians are here presented. Commonly separated plans like political, economic or cosmological appear scrambled in these events, that consummate like a form of resistance to the attempts of sedentarization and pacification secularly imposed to the Kaingang.
