Abstract

This paper unveils some of the risks that women researchers are exposed to when doing fieldwork, the decisions we take in extreme situations to protect our integrity, finally scar our research outcomes. Through my ethnographic experiences between 2010 and 2017 in Bahía Málaga–Valle del Cauca-Colombia, I aim to interpret the ethnographic field as a sexualized place that confront us as academic women. Additionally, I argue that is necessary to implement security protocols for women researchers while conducting ethnographic research.
