This study aims to show the importance of planning and developing alumni follow-up systems as a tool to allow for the continuous improvement of the whole planning and operation of Higher Education Institutions - IES, particularly of the teachinglearning process. As one of the aims of IESs is to provide society with graduates who are ready for the professional market, they should receive feedback from their former students through quality indicators, particularly concerning the qualification to work. The perceptions and motivations of IESs managers, particularly those of Accountancy Programs, were subject to empirical examination, in order to gather elements from reality with a view to the description and understanding of the phenomenon under study. The results revealed that the IESs recognize the need to institutionalize and practice alumni follow-up to improve the quality of the educational services they deliver.Downloads
