The study aimed to present the trajectory of the qualitative research in the Regional Research Training Program for nurses to study the Drug Phenomenon in Latin America. In total, 35 articles published in the Latin American Journal of Nursing between 2004 and 2008 were reviewed. The analyzed studies provide bases to develop health promotion activities and to design public sectorial policies.
