The conception of documentation in museums, as articulated in the body of work representative of this particular area, is inadequate for the retrieval and diffusion of documentary information. It is necessary that the process of documentation in museums, insofar as it focuses upon the treatment of the object of documentation, also consider the treatment of the information to be handled, with Language as the instrument of its conversion. It is in the methodology of the Science of Information that elements adequate to the process of documentary representations in museums can be drawn, the result being a distinction in the system of documentation of museums what is specifically documentary information.Downloads
