Abstract

Quality of life is the individual’s perception of a physical, mental, and social well being. It can be influenced by the development of heath conditions. Backache stand out between these, it has a high number of cases founded in general population, with some characteristics model like biomechanics and neurologics changes. Through the SF-36 questionnaire (Short Form Health Survey) with 8 dominions is possible to measure how a disease can affect quality of life’s people. The study was retrospective and the objective was to evaluate the change of SF-36 domains. A group of 154 patients from back school programs from DMR-USP with backacke, which were held between September 2001 and September 2003. The domains pain, general health state, vitality, physical limitation and mental health had favorable tendency when initial assessment was compared with the outcomes after 1month and 4 months assessment.
