Reabilitação na osteoporose: princípios básicos

Osteoporosis considered as a syndrome has been the objetct of many therapeutic researches. Tts secondary manifestations should receive special attention, since they are important causes of disability. Rehabilitation of the patient with osteoporosis must involve the reduction of bone mass loss and the treatment of pain, contracture, muscle spasm and postural abnormalities. This paper depicts the main clinicai presentations of osteoporosis and its therapeutic approach to rehabilitation. The topies discussed are: analgesia, orthotics, muscle balance and posture management. This summary was prepared in order to help the especialists during the follow-up of this important pathology.
