Abstract

Fibromyalgia is a syndrome characterized by generalized skeletal pain, which affects mainly middle-aged women. Some studies in literature have associated musculoskeletal diseases with dyslipidemia; however, only one study associated it with fibromyalgia. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the lipid profile of patients with fibromyalgia, comparing it with a control sample. A total of 42 women with fibromyalgia and 42 with no pain complaint participated in the study. No difference was observed regarding the lipid profile of these two populations.
