Abstract

Amputee patients due to tumors have characterists, like clinicai instabilities, that sepa rate them from the amputees due to other causes. These characteristics interfe re in a meaningful way with the rehabilita tion process, and may even cancel it. This work show the evolution of amputees due to tumors trea ted at Lar Escola São Francisco. It was verified that no one of the 6 patients met the goa l of prosthetics, beside fortunate conditions for rehabi litation as low age and early begining of treatment. This points out that the rehabi litation prognosis of these patien ts can suddenly be modifi ca ted at any time.
