The author reports on an experiment carried out by a high school using the teaching-research project. The objective is to stimulate the students and capacitate them for self-teaching, aiming at improving knowledge. During one semester, some two hundred students learned what a research project is, the stages of scientific research and they developed projects, reaching rather satisfactory results, exhibited by the school aiming at integrating itself with the community.
