Abstract

The article deals with integrating the soap opera brazilian telenovela in the educative space. It criticizes the biases there are against the genre and the lack of instruments and points of reference for analysis, and points to the positive aspects this type of fiction started presenting as of the 1970's. It emphasizes the need for teachers and parents to pay attention to the questions posed by this product, that affects an expressive portion of the Brazilian population, especially the young people since the repercussion mechanisms spread it throughout the entire society.
