Violence and globalization

The article discusses the terror attacks against the U.S. on September 11, having as its context the globalization of violence. This aspect calls the reader’s attention to the changes that took place internationally regarding American power and the role Nation-states have in expansionist disputes. The author also highlights the institutionalization of a discursive apparatus that disseminates the language of lack of safety, a way to make violence legitimate worldwide.
