Abstract

New Information and Communication Technologies (NICT) change the traditional pattern of emission and reception of information carried by traditional media – printed material, radio and television –, allowing the appearance of technologically enabled information agent emissors, which can break the paradigm of the one who holds the power of emitting information. In this sense, the Internet, the media that best represents technological revolution, created a new character that generates information: the internaut. Perceiving this potential and the changes that it could generate in the traditional media reception demands, some researches, mainly on Education and Communication areas, increased their attention to the study of this phenomenon.
